Why is an appointment required? We provide a personalized, one-on-one fitting experience for every client. Appointments ensure dedicated time, proper planning, and the highest level of precision for your garment.

How far in advance should I book my alterations? We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for bridal and formal wear. Our schedule fills quickly during peak wedding and prom seasons. Early booking helps avoid rush fees and guarantees availability.

Do you offer same-day alterations? No, we do not offer same-day services. All work is scheduled to ensure quality and proper attention to detail.

Is payment required at my first appointment? Yes, full payment is required at the time of your appointment to secure your place in our schedule.

Will I have a final fitting? Yes. All clients must attend a final fitting to try on and approve their garment before it leaves Sew More Couture.

What types of alterations do you specialize in? We specialize in bridal gown alterations, bridesmaid dresses, prom and formal wear, mother-of-the-bride/groom attire, and men’s and women’s suit alterations. We also offer custom suit services.

What should I bring to my fitting appointment? Please bring your shoes and proper undergarments. For suit fittings, we recommend bringing a belt, shoes and dress shirt for the best fit.

Do you repair or replace zippers? Zipper repairs and replacements are offered for wedding dresses only.

How long does a custom suit take? Custom suits typically require 6–8 weeks from measurement to completion.

Why do you charge a consultation fee for wedding and formal dress alterations? Wedding and formal gown consultations require dedicated time, expertise, and careful evaluation of each garment’s construction, layers, and fit. During this appointment, we provide a detailed fitting and develop a personalized alteration plan tailored specifically to you. The consultation fee ensures reserved time with our skilled specialists and is applied toward your alteration services when you move forward.
